Intercontinental Bank National Essay Competition For University Students

Intercontinental bank is currently organizing an essay contest tagged: ‘Nigeria: A Nation at 50, The Past, the Future.’ Below is an excerpt from Intercontinetal Bank's website page for the competition.

The Entry Form has been hosted on the bank’s website for intending participants to download free and also in paper format available in all branches of the bank where prospective candidates could pick them. Completed Entries are to be returned to the branches from where they will be moved to the Head Office through the 10 regional offices. Other details about the competition are available in the Press adverts and radio jingles. At the end of the competition, the overall 50 winners would be recognized as 50th Anniversary STARS and every STAR shall be rewarded with a prize. The overall best essay writer will be rewarded with an educational grant of N500,000, cash prize of N500,000 and one HP mini laptop; the second best will get N300,000 educational grant, N300,000 cash prize and one mini laptop; the third best will get N200,000 educational grant, N200,000 cash prize and a mini laptop while the 4th-50th winners will get one mini laptop each.
The 50 Stars will be unveiled to the world in a ceremony in Lagos.

BATN / BATIA Scholarship Awards 2010

BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO NIGERIA in conjunction with BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO ISEYIN AGRONOMY LIMITED (BATIA) invites applications from qualified Nigerians for the 2010/2011 University/Polytechnic Scholarship Awards.

This is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiative to promote academic excellence and skilled manpower development in Nigeria’s Agricultural Sector.
National Scheme: (Ref: NSAS)

The National Scholarship Award Scheme is open to all qualified first year undergraduate in any tertiary institution in Nigeria.

Operational Scheme: (Ref: OSAS)

The Operational Scholarship Award Scheme is open to all qualified undergraduate biological offsprings of tobacco farmers, registered with British American Tobacco Iseyin Agronomy Limited (BATIA). Equally applicants who are indigenes of any BATIA leaf growing community in Oyo State should apply under the Operational Scheme.


ENTRY REQUIREMENTS


Proposed applicants must be 18 years and above.

A full time student of any University and Polytechnic in Nigeria.

A student of Agricultural Science or a related course.

Applicant must be in his/her first year of study.


ENTRY QUALIFICATION

Applications should be filled and submitted online on or before 18th September, 2010.
