WHO CAN APPLY?
There are two categories within the scholarship - the National Merit Award (NM) and the Areas of Operation Merit Award, East or West (OE or OW).
1. National Merit Award (NM)
The National Merit Award (NM) University Scholarship is open to all Nigerian first year degree students in Nigerian universities who are NOT indigenes of SPDC’s operational areas (in Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, and Rivers States). Applications must be sent in writing using the application format below only and sent in an envelope clearly marked 2010/2011 NM Award.
2a. Areas of Operation Merit Award, East (OE)
The Areas of Operation Merit Award, East (OE) University Scholarship is open to first year degree students in Nigerian universities who are indigenes of SPDC’s operational areas in Abia, Akwa Ibom, Imo, Rivers and Bayelsa States (excluding indigenes of Ekeremor and Sagbama Local Government Areas). Applications must be sent in writing using the format below only and sent in an envelope clearly marked 2010/2011 OW Award.

Applications must be accompanied by:
1. Two recent passport-sized photographs of the applicant stapled to the top right hand corner of the http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifresume (including name, school & course written on the back of the photographs);
2. Photocopy of university or JAMB (UTME or D/E) admission letter;
3. Photocopy of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) scores;
4. Photocopy of ‘O’ Level result(s); and ‘A’ Level /OND /NCE result(s) as applicable; and
5. Letter of identification from State of origin (showing Local Government).
6. For applicants for the Operational Area Award, letters of identification must be stamped and signed by:
a) The paramount ruler of the community; and
b) The Chairman of the Community Development or Executive Council (CDC or CEC).

2011/2012 PTDF Scholarship Scheme

2011/2012 PTDF SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME In pursuit of its mandate the PTDF is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for its MSc and PhD Scholarships as well as Undergraduate, under the PTDF scholarship scheme. Scholarships will be awarded for studies in areas listed below, in the United Kingdom and upgraded Universities in Nigeria for the 2011/2012 session. However, the undergraduate level will be awarded for studies in Nigeria only.
Application forms can be accessed online using an ATM card or through purchase of a scratch card from designated major branches of First Bank of Nigeria Plc and Skye Bank Plc in all state capitals and FCT, upon the payment of a NON-REFUNDABLE sum of N1,000 (One Thousand Naira Only). Instructions on how to access the form online is clearly stated on the backside of the cards.
PTDF however wishes to inform all its esteemed applicants that its Overseas Scholarship Scheme was instituted as a short term measure to address identified skills gaps, pending the outcome of the various capacity building efforts being made to enable our domestic universities effectively handle the onerous task of grooming qualitative professionals in the oil and gas related disciplines. With the numerous upgrade programmes executed by the Fund in some Federal Universities in Nigeria, the Fund intends to shift emphasis to training Nigerians in-country from next session. All Candidates must:
* be a Nigerian
* be a registered, full time 100 level undergraduate in any Nigerian Tertiary Institution
* have 5 ‘0′ level credit passes in one sitting including English Language and Mathematics.
NOTE:
Any candidate currently a beneficiary of a scholarship of any kind is not eligible to apply
Dependants of employees of Addax Petroleum are not eligible to apply.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
To qualify for consideration, applicants MUST submit an application with ALL the following information.

And attach scanned copies of the original:
* Admission letter into institution with information on course of study, year of entry and duration.
* SSCE/GCE O’level certificate
* Evidence of state of origin/local government
* School ID card or National ID or Driver’s license or international passport.
APTITUDE TEST
An aptitude test for all applicants will be conducted at the following centres on a later date that shall be communicated to successful applicants through their email addresses.
Applicants should therefore indicate their preferred centre for the test on their applications:

2009/ 2010 Shell University Scholarship Award
Here is a good opportunity to all those brilliant, but indigent, students out there, coming from Shell. So if you think you need it why not give it a try? Good luck.
This is how it goes:
The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (Operator of the NNPC/SHELL /TEPN/AGIP Joint Venture) Scholarship Scheme offers first year students in all Nigerian universities the opportunity to study with an annual grant from Shell Nigeria for the full duration of their course. The programme aims to promote academic excellence and improve the skills-base among young Nigerians.
WHO CAN APPLY?
The Scholarship is in two categories – the National Merit Award (NM) and the Areas of Operation Merit Award, East or West (OE or OW).
1. National Merit Award (NM)
The National Merit Award (NM) University Scholarship is open to all Nigerian first year full-time degree students in Nigerian universities who are NOT indigenes of Shell’s operational areas - Abia, Akwa Ibom, Imo, Rivers and Bayelsa (indigenes of Ekeremor and Sagbama Local Government Areas), Delta and Edo States. Apply in writing using the application format below only and send in an envelope clearly marked 2009/2010 NM Award.
2a. Areas of Operation Merit Award, East (OE)
The Areas of Operation Merit Award, East (OE) University Scholarship is open to first year full-time degree students in Nigerian universities who are indigenes of Shell’s operational areas in Abia, Akwa Ibom, Imo, Rivers and Bayelsa States (excluding indigenes of Ekeremor and Sagbama Local Government Areas).
